Comment: I own almost all of the DOOM albums... and I have to say this one is a hot joint. Not his best, it lacks a little in production(maybe a little more Madlib) and there is a few wack beats(cellz/battyboys)but Jakeone did his thing on production, Doom did his thing and J dilla is always nice. Not to mention this album is a little short. Not his best, but good. My top DOOM album list goes a little something like this... 1.Madvillain(CLASSIC!!!bestDOOMalbumever!) 2.DangerDoom(supercreative,onlyalbumEVERofit'skind)3.OperationDoomsday 4.FOOD 5.BornLikeThis 6.VictorVaughn(Venomous) 7.KingGeedorah 8.VictorVaughn(Vaudeville)... without mentioning the SpecialHerbs Vol. 1-10, his KMD albums, Mr.Hood, and Monsta Island. I've been a Doom fan since I heard Doomsday in '99 and he still is a breath of fresh air to me... clever, original, grimy, creative, and father of his style. One of the most underrated, underappreciated MC/producers of our time. Whenever I feel this hiphop world is watered down(fuckcommercialHIP-POP), I put in a Doom album to clean up the mess. Thanks for everything DOOM!!! "The best MC with no chain I ever heard!!!"

Comment: DOOM is still better than the top 40 garbage bein pushed down the kids' ear holes on the radio. Flyin under the radar is props. I don't know about all this Doomposter shit and all that not showin up at shows. That's weak. I still love DOOM anyway. We can't expect everyone to do things our way... anyway, this album will be in my heavy rotation stack for a minute, but I was a little disappointed. Oh and by the way, are there any rappers out there who haven't used Lightworks? Props to Dilla, but c'mon already.

Comment: This album was decent, not great, just simply decent, my favorite song on this one was That's That, had a small sample (bite) on Grand Puba's "2000" album, but it was all done in good taste. That's That had some great word play, showcasing MF Doom's lyrical ability, although he didnt say much, he rhymed the Sh*T outta the track, my favorite track of the year so far.

Comment: I lost faith in DOOM a while back. I was a huge Monster Island fan, so it disappointed me to see him reuse some of the beats in production efforts for Wu-Tang dollars(even though ghost & co. brought flavor) and pictured him somewhere drunk and full of sadness. This album however I was very impressed with, the beats were unique and I thought DOOM really brought an A' rhyme game to the table. If you were ever a fan of the Supervillain give this one a chance, I did and enjoyed it.

Comment: I don't see what all the humrush is about. The album was touted to be classic but doesn't even come close to any of Doom's prior releases. The fresh production by Jake One, Dilla, and Madlib give the album a much needed shot of adrenaline. On Doom's end he's satisfied with giving us a few new original beats but falls back on his previous material. The album seems to lack focus and direction. It's good to have another Doom album but definitely a subpar performance by the SuperVillian.

Comment: Some really pleasing samples in here some dope beats. But I mean, COME ON , some of the production on DangerDoom will never be touched, "Crosshairs" anyone? that shits instant, this has less headnodding meldodic beauty than Mouse and Doom (Thats Thats noteable exception) that track just showed what can be done, hell the Whole of Danger Doom is just a creative/collab peak. This don;t come close to MouseyMaskey but its still good.

Comment: My thing about this album was that it was hyped up soo much..It was said to be DOOMs "definitive album", in that respect of that...yea it was a disappointment. Honestly tho...i thought it was good. Definitely could have been better, but I see this as a launching pad for a possible new Madvillian LP, or maybe a rebirth of that Ghostface collab album...we'll see... DOOM!!

Comment: Doom's lastest effort is disappointing and sounds recycled. I was expecting more from the metal faced supervillian but he just doesn't bring it on this outing. The Madlib, Jake One, and Dilla joints are the bright spots on the album with Doom recycling the same old beats again. All bullshit aside, the album is far from classic but still dope none the less. One last thing, I have the best rolled L's

Comment: Don't get me wrong I've been a fan since KMD but Doom's latest opus seems forced and lackluster. The tracks Gazzillion Ear, Ballskin, Absolutely, and More Rhymin are mad ill and the album's strongest tracks. I'm tired of hearing the same special herbs beats being recycled over and over again. The tracks lightworks has been rhymed on by other artist before and Angelz has been out since 06, here the drum progamming has been changed. .It would be nice to hear some new original beats and new collabos and alot of the tracks are short, leaving the listener yearning for more. Madlib, Jake One, and R.I.P. Dilla do their best to resurrect Doom but he falls way short of a classic album. Could we be seeing some chinks in Doom's armor coming to light?

Comment: Pretty nice album but many songs are too short. Doom's lyricism is at it's creative peak here. Although it's not as good as Dangerdoom 'Born Like This' is still better than 90% of the other albums out there. Buy this and recognize real hip-hop.

And I haven't even rocked it blunted yet. It's like Doomsday spliced with Madvillain. Slammin' rhymes & fire beats all the way through; it's great to have you back Mr. Dumille. Plus all you downloading fucks need to cop a physical copy of this Bangfest- as always Lex Records & Ehquestionmark murdalizing shit with a truly beautiful CD case, the artwork is incredible. Comment: CONS I didn't like that MM.. Food had too many interludes & not enough songs. this is just the reverse. Also half the beats sound like rap beats. PROS Half the songs are what I expected the other is more than what I expected 5.5stars. I'd put them in the same class as the Viktor Vaughn albums which I love but took some time to grow on me.

Comment: Definitely sounds a lot like Operation Doomsday but with just snippets I have to assume there is a whole bunch of sampled dialogue madness in between the tracks. As far as being pissed of about hearing some of the beats before, I was that way when I heard fishscale but I've realized that now that there is a market for beat cds (the things you used to send to artists)your gonna hear some of those beats rapped over (Can't wait to hear Mos Def over Oh NO).

Comment: Honestly, I was served just what I wanted, and that's kinda the problem. I expected the unexpected and I wasn't expecting this album. Dope to the highest degree, but most of the production is not better than 'Monkey Suit', but still nice. Really the only REAL problem I got with this is 'Angelz'. I like the NS version better. Other than that, welcome back, DOOM, your citizens missed you.

Comment: Doom ... say word! The beats are B Boy heavy influence with dashes of that "let me try to make this sound like a drum, a snare, a sample, a bass line" Honest Hip Hop needs a few underrated people to stay relative, and Doom may head that list and this official release solidifies that

Well going back to the album, I've heard a few songs, and all I can say is goddamn... although I wasnt feelin that Jake One production too much, and that Lightworks, that was sick, Ghostface's verse was ill too. Comment: Alright, so the new MF Doom has finally arrived......oh, I'm sorry the new DOOM. I honestly was expecting alot more from 'Born Like This'. I'm tired of everyone rhyming over Dilla's beats and putting it ont heir album, that's sh-ts wack. Especially coming from DOOM who in the past has been a very creative super producer himself. The rhymes are the typical run of the mouth dribble Doom has done in the past, and though creative, sometimes it just sounds like he's connecting words together(wordplay) in place of actually saying sh-t. Also a good majority of the tracks run to short, and to me the biggest dissapointment has to be the lack of NEW production work Doom put in on this project. It just wasn't enough in my opinion. This project falls somewhere in between 'MM..Food' & 'Venomous Villain'. Not bad, not great, just ok. 3 STARS.

Comment: This is so weak. They always wait till the last minute to say:"Oh by the way, release date has been pushed back." Went from highly anticipated to highly disappointing.

Look at Q-Unique on Psycho logical records it when from 9/30 to 11/11 to 1/13/09 so it's a lot of tight hip hop. It does suck U get all hype then find out 3 days later it was BS o well just got to keep bumping my Vordul Mega Ill BIll Sabac Prolyfic and Immortal technique

Comment: huge DOOM fan that has been waiting for a new cd for awhile. This sounds like it is going to be a compilation of some new and used material. I hope it's all new tracks but just doesn't sound right. We need the motherfucker because hip hop musick sucks as a whole right now and we need the villian to bring back the rawness. "ey you got a light, naw a bud light, early in the morning face crusted like a mud fight."

Comment: Finally, it took almost 4 years, but a new DOOM album. I can't wait for this, my pre-order will be placed sometimes this week, along with my "Operation: Doomsday" and "Bl_ck B_st_rds" pre-orders. Really looking forward to "Born Into This", guest production from Danger Mouse & J Dilla, and guest features from Ghost & Raekwon. October is DOOM's month!
