Item Summary
Parallel Uni-Verses is a joint effort between Hieroglyphics founder Del The Funky Homosapien and original Artifacts emcee Tame One. Produced entirely by Parallel Thought, the album's twelve tracks return to a time when inventiveness, creativity, funky beats, and, above all, lyricism, ruled hip hop.

Parallel Uni-Verses is that rare rap album which transcends tired cliches and maintains traditional hip hop values without seeming retro or passe. "Man, I ain't even gonna be egotistical like that and try to say that we are trying to usher in some new revival of whatever," Del says. However, he adds, "I'm saying this: we ARE the element that is missing not [just] because I said so. That's what's up; we didn't sell out for all the luxury and monetary gains. The original ways, we kept at and built upon those."

Proving that true lyricism is alive and well, Parallel Uni-Verses is another feather in the cap for Del and Tame, two prolific and highly-respected artists upholding the hip hop art form at its best---and holding their own in 2009.

Comment: I have bought every TAME-ONE related album since I was buying Between A Rock And A Hard Place at FAMOUS RAYMOUS in DOWNTOWN Newark the same exact time TAME asked dude behind the counter to see the tape. TAME said now it's on and walked out and I was souped up. This album is just another CLASSIC. LONG LIVE REAL HIP-HOP. Peace S.M.S.(IRONBOUND)

Comment: First of all I'm sick and tired of mugs comparing pac and Biggie or using them as one person for every argument... U can say one without the other... Personally I only liked pacs first 2 albums, his last ones were commercial pop records that used commercial samples from hit records (garbage).... Tame is a legend in the game, check out his whole body of work and he is still relevant.. Big L would slay all of em on the mic... He's the cat who's life and career was cut way to short.....R.I.P to all of the fallen Mcs..... Rakim is another example of a living Legend....

Comment: Tame is too young and not dead, he can't be a legend yet! and he is so much of a different style than big and pac it's like night and day! When Tame was booming, Pac was acting! I rate my rappers on Skill, Substance, and if they don't have Chicks and Little kids for fans.... Whats fame when you a fan that also likes that timberlake homo! Peace to Del and Tame one....

Comment: yo oak, did you just say that the 36 chambers sucked? are you out of your goddamn mind? I am losing valuable minutes even writing this to you. buckshot a legend? yes he is. del a legend? umm yeah. pac a legend? yeah. biggie a legend? almost, I think he needed more work under his belt to be considered a legend, and not just because he died. great lyricist yes but my opinion hes not a legend. tame a legend? hes been doing his thing for a while. 31 bum rush is my joint and both artifacts albums were dope. Hes done his solo joints that were pretty hot as well. Hes not a legend as much as the other cats mentioned but why not on his way? Why are you afraid to give respect to such great emcess spoken about on this site? dont say that we know nothing about music because I have been listening to hiphop since you were in diapers dog. The only backbone to your arguments is artists on your coast being better than pretty much everyone we talk about. projact pat and cudi would be great collabo? cmon man, wtf is wrong with you. Your choice in music is all you and no problem with that but it is suspect. Cormega album trash? your insane, but then again we are internet geeks who dont know anything. I do know this tho oaktown, you are about as cool as aids and cornier than orvil reddenbacher

Comment: Dusty and witty, it really sounds like a Artifacts/Hiero project, is it '93 again, I'm chillen in a daze, Del remains so ever dope, and Tame, dope to see him rapping fly not in that vast/cage rubbage ... gave it a 4, wouldve loved a dj innovated into the project, cuts and scratches, but that leaves room for improvement from seminal too solidified Classic

I need to hear this cuz I think your sadly mistaken. again, this is coming from the real hiphop head, the one who thinks the dj js-1 album was wack and mannie fresh is a great producer and lil mama is a great femcee..oh and I forgot, chronic 2001 was a classic.

Comment: First off...the below reviews.....newsflash...no one in the real world really talks like that. nothing better than internet gangstas. anyway, from what I heard on here the album sounds good. not deltron 3030 good, but still good. hopefully del can reach out to more people than mc bartholamew and his wannabe suburban crew. but seriously del is on the downside of his career so it's nice to see him get some good stuff in before he bows out.

Comment: kid you clown too much... Tame is a legend in the east coast. he has been through numerous group/record labels that have folded but has never lost his sound or sold out. for some 15-20 years dude has kept it consistent and aside from "spazmatic" hasnt dropped a bad album. see unlike most mc's he don't watch the industry and change to how marketing wants him to rap. he keeps coming with the same shit he knows his fans want to hear, consistently. if the record label says we dont like it... he says fuck you im out and moves on to the next one that will promote his shit. down south or out west he may not be as popular, but to his fans and to heads on the east coast Tame is a legend no doubt. Artifacts shit was classic and thats just scratching the surface. what's great about Tame is he has that comedic style like ODB or Redman, but a ridiculous flow and lyricism matched by in my opinion none other. he is the perfect hip hop hippie. and he is a legend regardless of your opinion. real heads know.

Comment: tame one is a weathermen god and del has been holding down the underground for as long as its been established. It might be softer than the usual tame one but it will definatly be worth picking up.

Comment: Just heard that "Flashback" track, and its straight dope, got a real fun old school kind of vibe.. If they maintain that same kind of chemistry through the rest of the album, then this one could be classic material. Gonna cop regardless cuz u gotta support the legends nahmean.. LEGENDS, yeah thats right I said it.. Betta act like u know.

Comment: Del's last album was such a dissapointment, he sounded really lazy, what happened to the battle rapper Del who ripped the mic on 'both sides of the brain' and his first 3 albums including 'future development' which has one of my favourite tracks ever 'stress the world', im sure most of you out there didnt bother with any thing im talking about and only know Del for 'mr dobbalena' which was average compared to most of his other stuff above, word.

Comment: Tame One is a legendary emcee because of his two artifacts albums and the Leakbros. three of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Leakbros being a concept album which really gives a writer or an emcee to really develop their creativity. 3 Classic studio albums is all Jimi Hendrix or Notorious B.I.G. every recorded an everybody has immortalized them so enjoy Tame one and Del! p.s. Deltron 3030, Dr. Octogon are also concept albums and masterpieces. Hip-Hop!!!

Comment: Is it me or is everybody making a concept album???? Mc's you would never dream of making an album together, are bonding. Krs-one & Marley-Marl, Ed.OG & Masta Ace, Krs-one & Buckshot, Ed.OG & Pete Rock, and now this??? I'm not hating, it's actually nice to see this, but I wanna hear classic material, don't just throw tracks together that don't make my neck snap. Hope no one's doing this just for a paycheck.
