Item Summary
The Snowgoons, the German based production team of Det, Illegal and DJ Waxwork, are at it again for their 3rd full length album, "A Fist in the Thought." The tracks have a raw energy that stems from both the intricately orchestrated production, as well as the eager lyrics of the hungry up and comers, The Savage Brothers & Lord Lhus; together, they are carving out a new sound in the hardcore underground world of indie hip-hop.

After teaming up for tracks on their sophomore effort "Black Snow," The Snowgoons have found a comfortable niche in the world of international collaborations. The dark, gloomy and brooding production rests beneath the high-energy vocals of the young MCs, whose sound is rounded out by features from Sean Price, Reef The Lost Cauze, King Syze, Sicknature & more.

"Their most refined work to date, "A Fist in the Thought" has a calculated aesthetic that reminds me of the energy, power and overall hunger I found in early Jedi Mind Tricks," says Babygrande CEO Chuck Wilson.

Comment: Another followup from a hardcore group that just doesn't sound right. Snowgoons put out a great collabo cd Black Snow and German Luger were both good albums with a lot of good mc's and a great sound. Yet again like many albums this year failed to deliver. "Pray" is the only hitter on this album and the rest is sub par. What happened snowgoons? you have so much talent.

Comment: I've heard so many albums like this, that try to sound like classic hip hop late '90s era MPC beats and NYC raps. Necro and family already did all this sound. It's really getting tired. These were great beats years ago, today they sound so generic. Glad lots of people are enjoying it though.

Comment: A great album, the production is just insane. But having Lhus/Savage Brothers as the main acts does hold the album back a little bit. Not that those guys aren't good, but just when you hold them up to talent that the Goons have used they're some of the weaker acts. "Been Fighting Devilz" is the best track and there's no really bad tracks or anything. Just would've been better if it was structured like Black Snow was.

Comment: Album is good but I wouldn't say sickest of the year just yet, still early. As for JMT "moving over"...haha..fuck outta here. JMT isn't even on Babygrande anymore as of recently.JMT has too many classic bangers to move out these dudes way just yet. These cats sound like fans of JMT lol.Anyway yeah dope album though, not sure why you're trying to compare the two honestly.Big up to Reef and Sean P, sick guest apps.

Comment: sickest album of the year 10/10 everybody comes correct on this album. there are no wack verses, no wack guest appearances, no wack beats, just 100% rawness, lord lhus is the future of hip hop, i'm surprised he didn't blow up before this project. savage bros are the next great hip hop duo, tell jedi mind tricks to move over, babygrande has a new flagship!
