Item Summary
Hunger Pains is the latest full length release from underground heavyweight Bekay. Over the past few years, Bekay has created a loyal, cult-like following in the underground hip-hop community by relentlessly recording, performing and grinding. Known for his complex imagery, shock value and clever wordplay, Bekay has established himself as a rather controversial figure in the hip-hop game. The former 106 & Park contestant and Rawkus 50 alumni joined forces with the burgeoning Brooklyn-based Coalmine Records to craft a body of work that will clearly be defined as Bekay's benchmark release to date. Hunger Pains is a project that took several years to complete and enlists several noteworthy guest appearances and producers. From hit maker J.R. Rotem's cinematic production on "Visions", to the legendary Masta Ace on the DJ Babu produced feel good summer anthem "Brooklyn Bridge", to the smash single "I Am" produced by The Alchemist, Hunger Pains showcases the rare unification of an underground rapper with a major label sound scape. From start to finish, Hunger Pains is a major achievement that will solidfy Bekay's standing in the game as an artist dedicated to both the progression and preservation of this culture.

Comment: This album is hot to death and the reason is because Bekay is a real authentic "EMCEE". He makes the album. It could be production from nonames and still would be hot. Thank you Bekay for making good music again.

Comment: With Bekay you either love em or hate em, which is clearly exemplified by the feedback we're seeing here. I think he's a tremendous talent and that "Hunger Pains" is conceptually well put together, very balanced as far as topics and themes and offers incredible production and features...two thumbs up in my book - good to hear that authentic hip-hop still exists.

Comment: Dope beats, but this bekay dude is straight up garbage. okay, trying to sound like your hungry as fuck on every track is not worth it dude. when buckshot did it, he made black moon really stand out. same with blaq poet. good with masta ace, rugged, rev features.. but this dude is weak as hell.

Comment: Dope beats, nice features, BeKay is wack as hell tho, he sounds like everyother white rapper tryin to get on. Brooklyn should be ashamed to have some white kid's name be BeKay. I know everyone who contributed to this album got paid and if there was no money involed dude would be there rappin all by himself with no beats. I cant wait until he fades away and gets a real job.
