    Summary

The Madlib/ Strong Arm Steady collaboration album Stoney Jackson came together in a flurry of creative energy over the past six months. Prompted by Madlib's stalwart DJ J.Rocc, who supplied SAS's Krondon and Phil Da Agony with 14 new Madlib beats CD, this album's conception and delivery bear resemblance to the trajectory took by 2003's Jaylib (with J.Dilla) and 2004's Madvillain (with DOOM).

SAS had previously rapped over Madlib's music on their mixtape album Deep Hearted and on the Talib Kwel/Madlib album Liberation.

The Stoney Jackson album unfolds over sixteen tracks and is a brisk, exciting hip hop record. Krondon and Phil supply the majority of the vocals with the third SAS member Mitchy Slick; guest appearances include Talib Kweli, Guilty Simpson, Little Brother's Phonte, Planet Asia and a host of underground Los Angeles's emerging rap talent.

Stoney Jackson represents Madlib's return to the hip-hop form and sets the stage for the OJ Simpson collaboration he's finishing with Guilty Simpson.

Comment: Now that's what the fukc I'm talkin about.. REAL HIP HOP.. ALMOST every song is a hit.. every other song's got some really noted people in hiphop who supplied us with the realest. Keep it up SAS.. The east started hiphop but now adays its killin it, while the westcoast is reincarnating the game back to life. If you were a golden age MC who's falling off trying to copy the mainstream, listen to these dudes and get schooled. HIPHOP101.

Comment: hey dan you pussy, sorry, this was a bangin album, what do you expect from madlib and strong arm steady. madlib always comes thru with heat, look forward to everyone of his beats. there are a few disappointing ones. but come on with the amount of music he has produced he can afford a few not so good. still better than anything timbaland can do. dont get me wrong. I used to like that queer, now with miley cyrus on shock value 2. and the drake song being the hardest on the album. pathetic. anyway strong arm steady even got rid of their weaker link in mitchy slick. no hate but you were average. and oh yeah fucc you dan from norway. im sick of europeans actin like its cool to not like madlib. 'im no fan of madlib' why? who are you impressing? LARS? homos
