Product Details

Over the past few years, The Doppelgangaz have gone from obscurity (Orange County, New York) to taking their unique sound all over the world. They have managed to do so while still having time to write, produce, and visit ungodly amounts of brothels.

Friends since childhood, Matter Ov Fact and EP discovered they were the last two descendants of the Rap Lords and were bestowed the gift of taking their incomparable and gritty production style to new heights. Since succumbing to the Rap Lords' request, The Doppelgangaz have provided numerous examples of why they were beckoned in the first place. Their divine influence can be heard on notable projects like The Ghastly Duo EP (2008), 2012: The New Beginning (2009), Lone Sharks (2011) and Hark (2013). The Doppelgangaz have also given fans of their production a few instrumental-heavy projects including the ongoing Beats For Brothels series. As a result of releasing quality works through their Groggy Pack Entertainment imprint, the duo headlined multiple European tours, earned the number one spot on's Top 100 list and surpassed a million views on their YouTube channel. On U.S. soil, they performed alongside major acts such as Slaughterhouse, Action Bronson, Black Milk and Nipsey Hussle while gracing the pages of The Fader, Complex and other notable publications.

In February 2014, The Doppelgangaz will be releasing their fourth studio album entitled Peace Kehd. The project explores the duality of the black cloak lifestyle, blending smooth and "in your face" textures that continue the progression of their sound. Multiple formats will be released to accommodate enthusiasts and casual listeners alike. With foreign and domestic tour dates coinciding with the release, the Doppel Gospel will be spread to the masses. Matter Ov Fact and EP have been known to don black cloaks to represent the Black Cloak lifestyle. This way of life entails making the most out of available resources, no matter how limited they may seem. What might be viewed as a disadvantage for some artists, has become a strong point for The Doppelgangaz. They take pride in handling their own production, designing their artwork and directing their own music videos. The ability to oversee every aspect of the creative process has allowed the gang to present cohesive projects that uphold their ghastly vision.

Comment: This is their worst album yet. This album has more of an immature, corny atmosphere than previous albums. I don't hate it but I hope they do better next time.

Comment: It's a good album but a bit short, and 1 song I don't care about... These cats are creative and put out good CD's but classics are rare....Personally there maybe 20 5 mics in my life but I'n critical and the hip hop changes... The Infamous by Mobb Deep is a 5 mic but I'm not into there music anymore and they put out 3 bangers in a row.... Times change and so do artist...

Comment: @Trenton You're right, they are consistent when it's comes to putting out bangers but apart from this release being so short, it was just not that good in my opinion. And the point that THe Muthafuckin Man was making was that he thinks people are dick-riding when they give 5 star ratings to their favorite MC's all the time.

Comment: All the responses about the album being so short: I definitely understand but keep in mind they put out 5 bangers in the past 3 years. What more do you want? And the Mothafuker Man..Eat a dick. No one on here asked you to trust anyone else's opinion. If you don't like it, you don't like it. But don't hate. It make you clueless.....Dude

Comment: MEH. They got the right sounds. They got the classic boom-gap sound for sure, but the samples they choose..the beats just aren't that good. Straight up. Frankly, I'm so sick and fuckin tired of all the EXTREMELY average hip hop that has come out in the last decade. I'm talking about underground hip hop just as much as the mainstream shit. Production is highly lacking. What the fuck is up with all you fuckin nob shiners throwing out 5s for every album that drops?? This ain't even close to a 5!! Fuck outta here!! The Doppelgangaz are just average. Always have been just average to me, that's it. I would NEVER trust any of y'alls opinions when it comes to an album review. Dudes are clueless...

Comment: Id rather have 8 dope joints rather than 20 tracks with 2 or 3 good ones like a lot of artists nowadays. Just saying.

Comment: Been following these guys since the beginning. This release is up there for me. True it only has 8 full songs but all 8 are good, and 5-6 are straight bangers ive been playing over and over. Live Rugged, Knowntchotahlie, and Whats your 20 are my favorite

Comment: This album didn't impress me as much as their previous release HARK. Plus there is only 8 songs here if you minus the intro, outro and the interlude. But I really like this group and I will give it a few more listens and update my review if I like it more.
