Comment: My wife likes this album so I'm jumpin' on the band wagon, although they do get a little bit too sexy for me at times. They also straddle the fence to mainstream acceptance. I won't forget that they've been in the game forever and are still mad original.

Comment: I'm mean it really is a disapointment to see artists like Kweli, Common and now the Roots limit there wordplay for the sake of beats. To their credit,(The Roots especially), their sound has matured, but their lyrics, (a part of that sound), seems to have plateaued. It's sad and I no longer look forward to their CD's, only their live performances.

Comment: this album is by far the best hip-hop album to come out since mos def's "black on both sides"... the production is phenomenal, the lyrics are tight as hell and they collaborated with the one and only cody chestnutt. check out the track 'seed', it's the epitome of what rap/rock should be. this album is soul from top to bottom. if I wrote for source i'd give it 10 mics, but I don't. so, i'm giving it a thumbs up here!

Comment: This new album is pretty tight, good productions by ?uestlove. Black Thought is a lyrical genius, wonder why his solo album never came out. Anyways, it's a great album but only has about 10 "hip hop" songs while the rest are either interludes or jazz songs with the group. One thing I like about this LP is that they got creative and tried to use a few other types of music. At certain interludes you can hear punk rock, techno, and of course, jazz and hip-hop.
