SummaryGermany's leading Black Music magazine ‚Uptown Strut' starts its own label with a superb compilation of Soul / Funk nuggets from around the World ...
Since the first release of "uptown strut" in spring 2008, the music magazine could establish itself as the leading music mag for "Black Music" in Germanosphere. In spring 2010 the fifth issue was released. The number of subscribers doubles every year and the selling charge in journal- and booksellingtrade is growing exponentially. Currently the printed edition contains a quantity of 10.000 mags and reaches more than 5.000 readers at an average.
With the first compilation of "editors'selection" a collection starts, which will pick up topics from the mag and will be enriched with discoveries of the editorial staff. "editors' selection" gives a well general idea of the world of current Soul-, Jazz-, Afro-, Latin- and Funkmusic.
Volume 1 of the compilation contains songs from musicians, who were discussed in former "uptown strut" issues - eg. splendors of the scene like Quantic & his Combo Barbao, consorted with tunes from many german artists like Una Mas Trio from Braunschweig, Mo' Horizons from Hannover or the Hi Fly Orchestra from Munich. Last but not least, the compilation contains songs, which are not released so far, for example Shareholder Tom from the büro.9-music label and a Dele Sosimi Remix from the cologne producer Sosue, a song just digitaly available to this day.
