Part 1 of 2: While this interview is from Rock The Bells 2007 the content remains as relevant as if it was recorded yesterday. One of the greatest producers of all time, ALC talks about where he's from (hint: 90210), his inspirations to become a producer and how rap invaded middle-America. Alchemist credits NYC with his quick escalation into the scene, Muggs with teaching him how to produce instead of just make beats, and Preemo as the G-O-D. Charismatic and perceptive, Alchemist comes across as a quick learner, a natural who through networking, a great ear and personality, helped bring hip-hop to the forefront since he debuted in the rap group The Whooligans in the early 90s.

Comment: Alchemist is a creative, talented producer with a good ear for samples. Anyone hating on Alchemist based on wear he's from is blinded with ignorence. Its not where your from its where your at. You can't possibly think that his contributions to hip hop is in valid and worthless because he grew up in Beverly Hills. Mentalities such as that keep people in the ghetto and prevents enlightenment to strive for success.

Comment: Who the fuck cares. He was at least honest about where he grew up. Hip Hop music is not about being street or ghetto. Most rap is bought by suburban kids anyways. This the problem with most main stream shit they got it twisted. It is all about the music. Most of you all have been listening to AL for awhile, now your going to stop. Thats what I call being fake.

Comment: Ok ok, first of all, the fact that The Alchemist is from Beverly Hills (wtf?) is actually hilarious to me, like what the fuck, man? And the other thing is, dude, if you're not from the ghetto and not gangster, don't try and act like you are just because you're involved with hip hop, because that shit is corny, its FAKE. So, Alchemist, get rid of that fake ass ghetto accent and swag. I've lost respect for this dude, just for being a fuckin cornball. What a shame, I wish I never found this out...
