Description

This is Flavien Demarigny’s first monograph. Among French and international writers, better known as Mambo, this artist is a well respected member of the street art community. This volume presents his monumental ephemeral works, his drawings, and a large collection of his portraits of celebrities. In this volume we see the premises of the work Mambo is now developing on canvas.

This book, produced over approximately two years, was originally intended to be only of portraits and to be published in time for the “le cul de la cremière” exhibition. Unable to complete within the deadlines, Mambo delayed the production and reviewed the concept and finally offered it to Rosalind Fey to be published by Kitchen 93. The result is a collection of 5 years personal work in all artistic mediums (1999-2004) and a book-object packed with messages to be deciphered through various stories, spread across time. For the texts, people close to Mambo (wife, father, Stef Carricondo, Moustic, Kinsey) were invited to each write a short piece.
