Mr. Vegas catapulted to the top of the Jamaican charts in 1997 with the dancehall boomshots “Heads High” and “Nike Air”, his distinctive vocals fusing melodious singing with precision dee-jaying (rapping in Jamaican parlance). Since then he has built an international fan base with hit singles like “Pull Up”, “Tamale” and “Hot Gal Today” but it is on his latest album “Hot It Up” that Mr. Vegas’ spectacular sing-jay approach and cleverly crafted lyrics dazzle with the intensity of an evening in, well, Las Vegas. The lead single called “Hot Wuk” is currently exploding all over the radio and the video has gotten nearly 2 million YouTube views (The 12″ vinyl is also available from Traffic). Mr. Vegas has performed for over 5 million people over the last decade, he’s a mainstay artist of the Trinidad Carnival and continually on the Caribbean Charts. “Hot It Up” is the fourth full length release from Vegas and it’s his hottest album to date.
