Now-Again announces the latest album by Brazilian singer/actor Seu Jorge – Seu Jorge and Almaz – with a 12″ single: a Brazilian take on the Roy Ayers’ classic “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” and the dark samba of Martinho da Vila and João de Aquino’s “Cirandar”. This single is mixed by Mario C; instrumentals included.
Almaz РSeu Jorge; drummer Pupillo and guitarist Lucio Maia from the stalwart Na̤̣o Zumbi; bassist and composer Antonio Pinto from the soundstages of movies like the Jorge vehicle City of God Рcame together naturally to record a song for a Walter Salles film. They enjoyed the experience so much that they recorded an entire album, free of convention, of music that inspired them. Songs famous within the Brazilian diaspora mesh with classic American and European soul songs begging for a bit of psychedelic samba. They enlisted producer and fellow Brasileiro Mario C. (Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson) to put the finishing touches on the project. The album is out on Now-Again later this summer.
