One of the hardest things to do is to separate the connection that an artist has had with their former group. So, what’s the easiest act of severance? It’s gotta be a releasing a solo, which is what former Cannibal Ox member, Vordul Mega, has done with The Revolution Of Yung Havocs. With the Ox, Vordul was overshadowed by his partner Vast, but now the more poignant lyricist gets his shine on this 14-track heater. Vordul definitely shows his penchant for comics here, mostly noticeable in his ethereal flow that morphs on each of these tracks. Vordul pairs up nicely on this LP with the likes of Jean Grae as well as with one of his friends, C-Rayz Walz. The Revolution Of Yung Havocs should settle any doubts about the Harlem-bred emcee.
