I, Steven “Chisel” Rivera, have been working in graffiti & street art for over a decade. I was born & raised in Los Angeles during the 80’s & 90’s at the rise of the local graffiti scene.
I attribute much of who I am as an artist to my experiences & exposure to street art while growing up. With my working class roots, money was scarce and as a child, I was drawn to art to create things I did not have. This then became a passion which led to my formal education in graphic design. Since then, with the tools that I acquired, I have continued to reinvent my art wheel by refining my techniques and by creating new ones, which culminate in my present work.
My primary focus is on technology and I love to create pieces of art from objects that are considered to be both common and obsolete. My art also serves as a bridge of communication with my father, an electronis technician, and to whom dedicate all of my work.
While my art has yet to be seen and publisized to a wider, more mainstream audience, I have had my fair share of experiences with the professional art world.
Presently, I continue the struggle, fighting as I strive to lay out the tracks to tell my story and show the world how I see it through my own eyes.
