Hurry Up & Wait
Philly based Beat Society member Hezekiah has finally decided to stop leaving his fans in limbo with the true to its title debut Hurry Up & Wait. Besides being an organizer and participant in the Beat Society, Hezekiah is also co-producer of the Showtime Network original series Street Time. Despite busying himself with this hefty side project, Hurry Up & Wait proves to be a testament to Hezekiah's knowledge of the indie hip-hop scene, and he finds an equilibrium between the stutter step and organic funk approach to beat-making on "Soul Music," before passing the torch to Illmind for an equally inspiring beat on "It Couldn't Be Done." M-Phaze refocuses the beat on the kicks and snares for a boom-bap backdrop on "Put Your Toys Away." This album isn't strictly about hot beats however, and Hezekiah spits conscientious lyrics alongside a largely Philly based lineup, consisting of Aaron Livingston, Chief Kamachi, Richard Raw, Keziah, Scratch, Grand Agent, Santi White, Eleon, and Bahamadia.
