Product Details
Tafsiri is the Swahili (Kenyan lingua franca) word for translation and interpretation in the linguistic and lyrical sense. Sauntering down the trail blazed by Theo Parrish - who reworked 'Wires' with signature swagger - is another close kindred spirit and Worldwide heavyweight - Quantic - who nudges 'Doyoi Nyajo Nam' firmly, but sensitively, towards club dance floors via a monstrous Afro-funky groove packing XXL drums and rib-rattling bass. The original Owiny jam has become a Worldwide favourite ... Quantic's re-rub ups its status to "Summer Festival Anthem".

The flip sees Owiny Sigoma Band co-founders Jesse Hackett (keys) and Tom Skinner (drums) tweaking 'Margaret Okudo' and 'Owegi Owandho' respectively: Jesse flipping 80s drum machine hits, heavily dubbed vocals and FX on the former to forge a delightfully loose-fitting, percussive groove; whilst Skinner transforms Joseph Nyamungu's virtuoso nyatiti/vocal solo into a gloriously skittery freeform bass jam.
