24 Hour Karate School Pt. II

Product Details
Ski Beatz, record producer, musician and MC originally from North Carolina, was discovered in NYC by DJ Clark Kent. Ski was originally known as "MC Will-Ski" and in the 1980s, he was a member of Original Flavor, the first group managed by future recording industry executive, Damon Dash. In the mid-90s, Ski produced four tracks on Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt (1996), including the singles "Dead Presidents" and "Feelin It", marking Ski's first major production placement. After the critical success of Reasonable Doubt, Ski went on to produce Camp Lo's 1997 debut, Uptown Saturday Night, worked with Jay-Z again on his sophomore album, In My Lifetime Vol. 1 (1997), and did most of the production on Camp Lo's second and third albums, Let's Do It Again (2002) and Black Hollywood (2007).

In 2009, Ski linked back up with Damon Dash, joining the entrepreneur's DD172 media collective, subsequently nicknamed the 24-Hour Karate School. Since the foundation of the studio enclave, Ski has worked with a number of artists including Curren$y, Jim Jones, Smoke DZA, Camp Lo, Wiz Khalifa, and Stalley. In 2010, he produced Curren$y's Pilot Talk 1 & II and put out 24-Hour Karate School Part 1, featuring the aforementioned artists as well as Jean Grae, Jay Electronica, Rugz, D Bewler, Nicole Wray, Ras Kass, Joell Ortiz, and Tabi Bonney. Going with the 24-Hour Karate School theme, Ski assembled a DD172 in-house band aptly named The Senseis. Ski has also created a new international movement in Japan, joining forces with the young hip hop MCs of Japan to create their own version of 24-Hour Karate School. 24-Hour Karate School Japan (2011) features over 15 famous Japanese MC's including Union Rhyme, Seeda, Prajna, Anarchy, Rinolatina II, Tetrad, The Gang Of Four, Ryuzo, and more.
