Got That Purp Vol. 2
"Got Purp Vol. 2"is some official southern ish. Dope southern rape is old Eight Ball and MJG like "Throw Ya Hands Up" not redundant hard hitting beats with dudes making up unappealing slangery. Outkast primarily Big Boi in this case realize that obviously. The bottom is really set to eventually fall down on a lot of the southern hip-hop that is so "big" right now. Does anyone remember Master P? The whole thing is like an ugly repeat of that stuff with a more grassroots approach to it and no jeweled out covers and "ughhing." "Got Purp Vol. 2" is the first release on Big Boi's new label "Purple Ribbon." The lead single absolutely kills it with Killer Mike lacing up "Kryptonite." The whole thing reads through real well and yeah the selection of MCs seems questionable on paper at times. I mean you could argue where on earth has Cool Breeze been, but seriously this is dope.
