Five years after their album Racing with The Sun, Chinese Man is back with a new opus, SHIKANTAZA. Composed between Marseilles, Bombay and their secret refuge in the French countryside, the 16 tracks of this new album bring you back to the roots of the Chinese Man identity. With this new album, Chinese Man creates a link between its musical origins and its new aspirations. SHIKANTAZA is an invitation to let go, to capture the moment… it is a personal path to enlightenment.

“The dilemma, for me, was making something from the heart without it sounding like a political record… I’m not necessarily into politics, and though I wouldn’t call myself an activist I am trying to be more active… How do you do that and not beat people over the head with life’s truths? I do feel a responsibility as a man, and as a father, to say something though, and at the same time I want people to just enjoy the music… We just wanted to make an amazing album that also spoke of the times we we’re living in.” – Moe Pope; Torch Song features guest appearances from Monica Raymund (NBC’s Chicago Fire), Jared Evan, Frank The Butcher, Dutch Rebelle, Avenue & more.

The debut Peacefrog album from Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann originally released in 1998 is an album of truly epic proportions, a must have for any and all collectors and lovers of house music. Utilizing soul, funk, gospel, and even hip-hop production techniques and alternating from mellowed-out disco dubs like “Mahogany Brown” and “Stoneodenjoe” to more raw and dirty tech-house tracks like “Me and My People’s Eyes.” Mahogany Brown delivers a slice of Black American music that affirms Kenny’s reputation as a major influence on house music today.
