Official Vinyl Digital repress of the legendary debut album by TOKiMONSTA, limited to 500 Copies on blue / orange colored vinyl! Comes with 2 bonus tracks available for the first time on vinyl! The official debut album from LA female beat maker TOKiMONSTA, first female to be apart of Flying Lotus Los Angeles-based crew/label Brainfeeder. Through the creation of beats, she is able to fuse vintage styles with progressive sounds into something unique. Though distinctly known as being one of few female producers in her sphere, her music has come to represent itself.

We are down to our last few copies! This edition features Los Angeles based producer Ras_G. Every volume features one artist and twelve tracks, and comes equipped with a 5×7″ postcard insert that features a photo of the artist’s workspace along with the equipment used in their music-making process as well as a personal narrative of how they got into beat making in the first place. Visually cohesive and packaged with the utmost attention to detail, Baker’s Dozen is a series that speaks up for artists whose craft renders voices superfluous, whose instrumentals alone suffice to make a statement.

Strut present the definitive collection of singles released by Sun Ra across his illustrious career, spanning 1952 to 1991. Released prolifically during the 1950s and more sporadically thereafter, primarily on the Saturn label, the 45s offered one-off meteorites from Ra’s prolific cosmic journey, tracing the development of his forward-thinking “Space-Bop” and his unique take on jazz and blues traditions. The collection is hugely varied, ranging from Ra’s spoken word recitations and his early work with Chicago vocal groups to the different phases of his Arkestra, small group and duet recordings. The singles are also unpredictable vehicles for Ra’s music, combining different tracks from different sessions and occasionally making available music which was recorded many years beforehand.

We only have 10 copies left! This edition features Los Angeles based producer Ras_G. Originally from Brighton, Kutmah made his name while living in the US, releasing some acclaimed mix tapes and building up connections with the Brainfeeder & Low End Theory crews. In 2010 he was deported to the UK, lived in London for 5 years and now resides in Berlin (while still holding down a show on the East London-based radio station NTS). In Summer 2015, prolific leftfield beatmaker Kutmah released the 20-track instrumental beat album BLK/SMR on Bandcamp. During March 2016 he selected & sequenced his favorite nine tracks for this limited-edition 10″ vinyl / cassette version of BLK/ SMR on HIT+RUN.

Body Wash is his second album for Stones Throw Records, a full set of realized songs that were only hinted at on Yawn Zen. Influences here include the likes of early SOLAR records material, Leon Sylvers III, Kashif, and Dave Grusin. These artists, Mndsgn says, “embodied that potent feeling in the early 80s boogie/funk/soul/jazz/fusion wave.” He adds, “I was also digging back into some early 90s R&B sounds and started really imagining what it would be like if I had mashed the two eras together.” He explains Body Wash as “a soul record that plays with nostalgic elements in a very dynamic & positive way. Think about it as a box of crayons for you to draw emotions with.”
