48 hours was all that was needed to create this EP of inspired music. Raashan Ahmad and Headnodic honed the quality of their collaboration as founding members of the groups Mission: and Crown City Rockers. That musical short-hand, friendship and effortless connection is apparent through every moment of this release of beautiful beats and rhymes.

Wow do we have an insane amount of pre-orders for this deluxe version! Pressed on fancy purple & green splatter vinyl, The Odd Tape revolves around the rhythms of the artist’s daily life. It starts in the morning with “Alarmed,” that sounds like if Shuggie Otis did a psychedelic eye-opening cover of Nas’ “Shootouts.” It rolls through “Right Side of the Bed,” with its glitter-gold sax lines, loose drums, and sunshine-slanting-through-the-blinds keyboards. Oddisee went from sampling to creating the eternal sounds of his original inspirations. You can hear older gods like Roy Ayers, Bob James, and Fela, but mostly you hear Oddisee continue to come into his own.
CD now shipping and Vinyl LP available for pre-order.

We have been sold out of this item since it’s release but the repress has finally arrived on 180g vinyl black vinyl with bonus digital album download. Like all things Thundercat, this is bound to be sold out quickly.

Sold out since it’s release back in February, we finally got this hard to find red vinyl back in stock! Thundercat returns with his first solo material in two years with the 6-track mini-album “The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam”. The album sees him returning to the Brainfeeder fold after having already made outstanding contributions to two of the best reviewed albums of 2015 to-date: Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly and Kamasi Washington’s The Epic.
